// April // Week one // Fresh//

            The theme of March was home. But if you noticed, no photographs were uploaded for March. This was not intentional, but nothing came. No photographs of home found their way into my camera, nor to Cheyna’s. During the month of March, neither of us was home. We attempted forcing ourselves to come up with something. I took a photograph of my bed, sheets undone because I just slept in them. My dreams were closest I got to “home” last month. But as I went to upload it, I couldn’t. It felt insincere.
            I was not home.
                        That bed did not [does not] feel like home.
                                    So the blog went blank.
            This past month was rough. I feel at home in unfamiliarity, so in our preplanning, I thought this would be a good theme for this month. But, the newness of Seattle had already worn off. It began to feel routine. But I did not have any deep enough connections to feel at home through intimacy, either. I was in limbo.
            Cheyna, having difficulty with her job and with her new roommate, packed her things and moved back in with her mother and sister. Something I will do upon my return to Phoenix as well.
            We did not feel at home in March. And we didn’t want to lie to you by presenting you with photographs our heart was not in. We apologize for the absence, but now that our little resting period is over and as we enter April, we are ready for a fresh start. To begin anew.
            As the flowers bloom and the sun begins to shine earlier in the morning and later in the day, we too are ready to begin again. I move home one week from today and Cheyna starts her life again from a new house. The idea of new beginnings covers us like a fresh coat of paint, leaving us radiant and refreshed. We are ready for new chapters. So through the month of April, we will be sure to present many fresh photographs to you.
